Our vacuum technology courses aim to support your work. These courses allow our customers to gain a deeper understanding of vacuum technology and apply it more effectively in their work.
5. Leak Detection (Sealing Test)
We offer helium leak detection equipment rentals or on-site leak detection with engineering support. Our leak detection services help identify and repair potential leaks and faults, ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of your vacuum system.
We use the following methods for leak detection:
- Sniffer Mode Helium Leak Detection: In this method, the vacuum system or component is filled with a test gas, typically 100% helium or a helium-containing gas mixture. The system is then examined with a special helium detector through a sniffer probe that detects escaping helium, allowing us to accurately locate leaks.
- Vacuum Mode Helium Leak Detection: During this test, the vacuum system is sprayed with helium at designated points (welds, connections, sealing points, etc.), and a helium detector is used to monitor the presence of helium inside the system. If helium is detected, the detector signals it, and the leak size can be estimated. We can later sectionalize the system to precisely locate the leak.
Frequently Asked Questions
Vacuum Pump Repair
What signs indicate that a vacuum pump needs repair?
If your vacuum pump is noisier than usual, experiences leaks, has reduced ultimate vacuum, overheats, or the oil is contaminated, these are all signs that the vacuum pump may need repair.
How long does it take to repair a vacuum pump?
The repair duration depends on the complexity of the problem. Typically, it takes 1-2 business days if all parts are available. If special parts are needed, the repair time may be longer.
Why is oil replacement important in a vacuum pump?
The oil provides lubrication and sealing for the vacuum pump. Over time, it can become contaminated or lose its lubricating properties, which can reduce the pump’s efficiency and lifespan.
How often should maintenance be performed on a vacuum pump?
The frequency of maintenance depends on the pump type and usage intensity. It is generally recommended to inspect and maintain the pump at least once a year.
What does the vacuum pump repair service include?
Our repair services include a full inspection of the pump, replacement of parts, oil changes, seal checks and replacements, and performance testing.
What are the most common problems with vacuum pumps?
The most common issues include oil leaks, reduced pumping performance, noisy operation, and overheating. These are usually due to maintenance or part-related problems.
What happens if I neglect vacuum pump maintenance?
Neglected maintenance can reduce the vacuum pump’s efficiency and may cause significant damage, leading to more costly repairs. It may also result in premature failure, requiring replacement sooner.
How can I extend the life of my vacuum pump?
Regular maintenance, oil changes, and proper use can extend the life of your vacuum pump. Keeping the pump clean and following the manufacturer’s recommendations are also important.
How much does vacuum pump repair cost?
The cost of vacuum pump repair depends on the type of problem and the required parts. We can provide a quote after assessing the pump’s condition.
How do I know if my pump has been properly repaired?
After each repair, we provide a detailed report and test results that confirm the pump is functioning correctly. We also offer a warranty on the work performed.
What is a helium leak detector?
A helium leak detector is an instrument that uses helium gas to identify and measure system leaks. Helium is easily detectable and safe, making it an ideal leak detection gas.
